Solid Gold Dog Food Recalls
Since its founding more than 40 years ago, the Solid Gold Food brand has had only a single recall on one of its products. This happened in May 2012 when the brand voluntarily recalled its WolfCub Large breed puppy formula and Solid Gold WolfKing Large breed adult recipe due to possible salmonella contamination. Both formulas were made at Diamond Pet Food facilities in Gaston, South Carolina.
However, none of the formulas tested positive for the contamination. Since then, the brand has not recorded any other recall. This shows its commitment to maintaining the quality and safety of its products.
Solid Gold Legal Issue
Solid Gold faced a class-action suit filed against it in 2018 on allegations of the presence of heavy metals, chemicals, and toxins in its products. The complainant alleged that the company labeled its products with ‘’fraudulent and negligent misrepresentation’’. This was about the cat food line.
