Things You Can’t Have When You Own A French Bulldog

Owning a French Bulldog is fun.

But there are things you forgo after becoming a Frenchie parent.

Read on to understand what you can’t have when owning a French Bulldog.

A good sleep or silent nights

If you value your sleep, owning a French Bulldog may change this. Frenchies are brachycephalic breeds. Their shortened snouts predispose them to loud snoring. This will disturb your peaceful sleep pattern.

A deep swimming pool

Dogs love swimming, but French Bulldogs can easily drown if they are not wearing a life jacket. If you own a Frenchie, you cannot live near a place with water higher than its head.

A full-time job

French Bulldogs are prone to separation anxiety. They cannot be left alone for longer periods. You need to spend most of your day with them. Leaving them alone for too long can lead to anxiety and even illness.

A fartless day

Your day will be full of stinky bombs that penetrate your inner being. The farts can linger long, so your sensitive nose must bear with them. A balanced diet may, however, reduce those dreaded bombs.

Privacy or personal space

Frenchies will follow you wherever you go. This includes the bathroom. So be sure to keep the doors locked. Your personal space also becomes theirs.

Furless clothes or a fur-free home

French Bulldogs are not hypoallergenic. They shed a lot of hair. You will find hair on your furniture, clothes, and car. Shedding seasons means a messy house. This also means Frenchies may not be the right pets for people with allergies.

A nap alone

As mentioned, Frenchies will always follow you wherever you go. Even if you decide to sleep on the couch, they will still find you and sleep next to you.

Peaceful arrivals without tantrums

These beauties love attention and will grab any opportunity to ensure they get it. They use tactics like barking, especially when they realize you are no longer interested in them. They will also announce their arrival by barking.

Eating alone without sharing

Your food becomes your Frenchie’s food. They will look at your food with beginning eyes, forcing you to give in. They will drool over your food, forcing you to give them a bite. These dogs will teach you that sharing is caring.

A day without love

Frenchies are affectionate dogs. They love to cuddle with their pet parents. Frenchies are true lapdogs. They are incredibly affectionate and always want to show their owners their love. This means your dog will always be underfoot.

These energetic, loving, and playful dogs need constant care and affection. A French Bulldog allows you to enjoy those sweet smooches throughout the day.

Final Thoughts

There you have them.

There are some things that French Bulldog owners cannot have.

Most of them will not disrupt your daily life.

On the contrary, they will make your day enjoyable.
